The “Right to Life Act” (H. 3526) is scheduled for debate in the South Carolina House Constitutional Laws Subcommittee on Thursday, Feb 4th at 9 am. This act goes too far and is an attack on women’s health.
This bill would allow for more government intrusion into our lives and medical decisions. The “Right to Life Act” would allow public access to our medical records in order to investigate miscarriages. It would interfere with medical decisions in treating women for fertility problems, and deny access to life-saving treatments because they might endanger a fertilized egg. And, this bill would ban birth control options like the Pill and IUDs.
The potential detriment to women in South Carolina that the “Right to Life Act” could cause is massive. This bill is a clear illustration that our Legislators feel that they have the right to govern our bodies instead of a woman, her family and her physician.
Let¹s stand together as a unified voice of reason and send a message to our legislators: We support the rights of patients to expect that their relationships with healthcare providers will be kept confidential. We believe every person is entitled to the access and use of birth control.

Isn’t going through a miscarriage trauma enough without the added pressure of government investigation? The SC Government is just plain ridiculous. Tell Them is doing a wonderful job at really creating a voice for college students and now women who know that they have a right to privacy. Stick it to the man!
Declaring protection for all SC citizens including the preborn, is a good thing and it is the proper role of government. An intrusion into your health and privacy is the proposed government healthcare reform. Perhaps you all should be voicing opposition to it?
