While we did make some headway, we are literally falling behind other states in regards to public education. We have seen a Republican-dominated political process gut funding for public education. In return, the Republicans - with some Democrats - enacted Act 388, which has decimated revenues for the system. With that, a Senate committee was brave enough to decide they would not allow a review of Act 388.

In consideration to the essential programs mentioned, let us not forget about public education in the state of South Carolina.
