Let’s Move!

Being active and eating a healthy array of foods are essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately, many children across the country are not taught to take control of what they eat and how they work their bodies. They live sedentary lifestyles- blobs in front of TV and video games. Eating junk food and drinking soda- and detesting the veggies that their parents “force” them to eat.

That’s why I’m so impressed that First Lady Michelle Obama has taken on these challenges and come up with her “Let’s Move!” campaign. Today, the White House launched letsmove.gov, an interactive website full of ideas on how to keep our kids happy, healthy, and moving. This “online resource for parents, teachers and community leaders to help our children eat better and become more active” is a great place to find new ideas and advice about being healthy, and training our kids to maintain healthy living for life.

Today’s “Take Action” idea- visit letsmove.gov and find at least 3 new ideas of activities and recipes for your kids (and maybe even something fun for you).
